Monopoly GO Race Points and Medals Explained by U4GM
#1
Race points show how far your car travels; Medals show where your team placed. The two totals matter at different moments. When you're preparing for the Monopoly Go Partners Event, keep a Flag reserve in mind before chasing a lead. A strong score on one track doesn't settle the championship, since Medals from each race shape the overall result. Use the live points board to judge whether a push is useful, then check the Medal standings before deciding what to spend next.

Spend Flags with a clear target

Flags fuel your Race Dice rolls, so check the multiplier before each one. A higher setting can make a short push count, especially when your team is near a lap reward, but it can drain your reserve fast. I'd agree on a target first: one player watches the standings while the rest decide whether to spend. Start at a level you can sustain, then raise it only when the gap makes the cost worthwhile. Doubles or triples can award bonus points, but don't budget as though they're certain.

Build a reserve before the race

Use the team-up window to collect Flags instead of scrambling once the race starts. Board pickups are affected by your board multiplier, while several other activities can add to your stash. Don't burn dice chasing every pickup. Check the event screen and choose a reserve that gives you room to make a planned push later.

Collect Flag pickups on the board.
Finish Quick Wins and claim the Shop's Free Gift.
Look for Flag rewards in milestones and tournaments.
Play Flag Drop if it appears during team-up.

Choose your mode and check the standings

You can join a four-player team or pick Solo Mode while team-up is open. That choice locks when the timer ends, so compare the reward previews before confirming. Event timing can vary; follow the countdown in your app rather than assuming every round lasts the same amount of time. You need at least 20 Flags to roll Race Dice. Between races, check the Medal standings and lap-reward track, and claim waiting rewards before the event closes.

Know what each bonus can do

Hold the Lead is separate from championship Medals: your team earns credit for each full minute in first place, so a brief jump to the top may not be enough. Some lap rewards offer Overload!, which slows a rival until it earns enough points to clear the effect. That team must split progress between moving along the track and breaking free. The effect can stack during a race, but it won't carry into the next one. If you're comparing ways to prepare for a future event, the buy cheap Monopoly Go Partners Event page is one option to review. Before rolling, check the Flag cost, the next lap reward, and your Medal position; a clear target makes it easier to know when to stop.
